Microstructure and Tribological Properties of Fe-Based Laser Cladding Layer on Nodular Cast Iron for Surface Remanufacturing

چکیده

In this study, a cladding layer and nitriding were prepared on nodular cast iron, to provide guidance for remanufacturing of iron. Their microstructure composition the tribological properties under dry starved lubrication conditions studied. Meanwhile, contact stresses at different friction stages simulated through finite element method. The micro-hardness 694 HV0.5 724.5 HV0.5, which 4 times 4.2 higher than that substrate. For conditions, wear resistance 113.2 65.5 coefficients lower addition, their average gradually reduced with increase in load. Contact simulation showed maximum equivalent stress increased coefficient during friction, peak value von Mises was larger layer, more likely yield peel off.

Laser remanufacturing based on the integration of reverse engineering and laser cladding

Laser remanufacturing has been used as an approach to refurbish or to improve the surface quality of high-priced parts. However, most of the existing systems lack measuring and modelling functions, which results in the uncertainty of the quality of end products. This paper presents a three-dimensional Laser Remanufacturing System (LRS) based on the integration of reverse engineering and laser c...

Tribological Behavior of Reinforced and Unreinforced High Chromium Cast Iron

In this paper, the metal matrix composites containing 22 wt % Cr, 2.5 wt % C and 2 to 16  volume percent TiC were processed by solidifying Fe-Cr-Ti-C in which precipitation of titaniumcarbide and chromium carbide occurred. The microstructure and abrasion resistance of in-situ synthesized composites were compared with the unreinforced high chromium white cast iron (HCWCI) containing 22 w. t. % C...

Reactive Fabrication and Effect of NbC on Microstructure and Tribological Properties of CrS Co-Based Self-Lubricating Coatings by Laser Cladding

The CrS/NbC Co-based self-lubricating composite coatings were successfully fabricated on Cr12MoV steel surface by laser clad Stellite 6, WS₂, and NbC mixed powders. The phase composition, microstructure, and tribological properties of the coatings ware investigated by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS), as well as dry s...

Investigating the Effect of Titanium Addition on the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Ni-Hard 4 Cast Iron

Ni-Hard4 white cast iron is excellent wear resistant material and has been widely used in wearaffected equipment operated under extreme conditions, such as in mineral processing, cement, copper and iron manufacturing. In this study the effect of titanium addition (1.2, 0.7 and 0.2 wt.%) to the Ni-hard 4 cast iron with the nominal composition of Si= 1.5%, Mn=0.5%, C=3%, P=0.05%, S= 0.05%, Mo= 0....
